JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC
JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC is formulated to address moderate to severe facial wrinkles, including deep nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and lips. Its thicker consistency, compared to the lighter Ultra XC, allows it to effectively smooth more dramatic wrinkles. This versatile dermal filler can also be used in a “liquid facelift” to enhance facial contours or rejuvenate the hands. Made with a hyaluronic acid gel base and lidocaine for added comfort, JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC helps restore hydration and volume. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in our skin and is primarily responsible for maintaining proper hydration levels.
Ideal Candidates for Ultra Plus XC
JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC is typically used to treat moderate to severe signs of aging. This dermal filler is ideal for Nashville-area patients looking to obtain smoother skin and minimize the look of deep skin depressions, wrinkles, and folds. It works on all skin types and colors. Breastfeeding or pregnant patients are not ideal candidates for JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC, same as Ultra.
Ultra Plus XC Treatment Process
JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC treatments are quick and contain lidocaine to minimize sensation. A local anesthetic provides additional comfort. Once the anesthetic sets in, the injector administers the dermal filler itself. The treatment should take 15 to 40 minutes, depending on the severity of the folds and the number of injections required.
Ultra Plus XC Benefits
The results of JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC are typically visible as soon as the filler is injected. Patients should notice a significant decrease in fine lines, wrinkles, and other signs of aging, as well as a more naturally plump look on the face.
Ultra Plus XC Side Effects
Downtime is not required for Nashville patients receiving a JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC treatment. However, there may be immediate side effects including tenderness, temporary redness, bruising, or swelling near the injected area.
Maintaining Ultra Plus XC Results
A single JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC injection should generate results that last for six to 12 months. The speed at which a patient’s body breaks down the filler will significantly determine the longevity of the results. Over time, Nashville-area patients may find that they will need less frequent injections and smaller doses to maintain results due to a boost in collagen production.
