Treat hyperpigmentation and melasma by reducing melanin production and promoting a more even skin tone.
What Is the Cosmelan Peel?
The Cosmelan Peel is a specialized depigmentation treatment designed to reduce hyperpigmentation and improve skin tone uniformity. It effectively treats conditions like melasma, age spots, sun spots, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation by inhibiting the enzyme tyrosinase, which is essential in the production of melanin (the pigment responsible for skin color). The Cosmelan Peel combines a potent blend of ingredients—including azelaic acid, kojic acid, phytic acid, and ascorbic acid—to target and reduce excessive pigmentation while promoting skin renewal.
At NPSI, our skilled practitioners perform the Cosmelan Peel with careful attention to your specific skin concerns. The treatment involves two phases: an in-office application of the peel mask and an at-home maintenance regimen. During the initial appointment, the Cosmelan mask is applied to your skin and left on for a period determined by your provider (usually between 6 to 10 hours). After the designated time, you'll remove the mask at home and follow a prescribed skincare routine to enhance and maintain the results. Some redness and peeling are expected during the first week, but downtime is minimal. Patients typically notice a significant reduction in pigmentation and a brighter, more even complexion within a few weeks.
