Dr. Jacob Unger, the founder and lead surgeon at Nashville Plastic Surgery Institute, brings unparalleled expertise and a passion for excellence to every procedure. His impressive educational background includes graduating summa cum laude from Tulane University, where he was the top-ranked “Senior Scholar” in the philosophy department and an inductee into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Dr. Unger earned his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine, where he received multiple research awards and published extensively on breast surgery and cutting-edge 3D imaging.
Dr. Unger completed his residency at the prestigious University of Texas Southwestern, one of the most competitive and highly ranked plastic surgery training programs in the nation. During his residency, he served as the administrative chief resident and was the sole resident member of the Board of Directors of the American Society of Plastic Surgery. His contributions to the field include over 20 peer-reviewed scientific papers and book chapters, numerous national presentations, and the invention of the U.S.-patented Natrelle Fourté expander fill system, widely used in breast reconstruction surgeries.
